  2. Collected homework:  comparison of creation of this world in Genesis chapters 1 & 2, and in “The Magician’s Nephew”, chapters 8 & 9.

    1. title: chapter 7
    2. topic: What happened at the front door
    3. Key words:
      1. Key people: Jadis, Aunt Letty, Uncle Andrew, Polly & Digory, crowd/cabby/policeman
      2. Key places: in Digory’s house and in front of his house
      3. Key events:
        1. Jadis tries to use magic to kill Aunt Letty, fails.
        2. Aunt Letty sends Jadis & Uncle Andrew out of the house.
        3. Aunt Letty –  “Only fruit from the land of youth could help Mabel (Digory’s mother) now.”
        4. Digory and Polly try and take Jadis out of this world.
      4. Main idea: Jadis tries to use her magic to kill Aunt Letty but fails. Aunt Letty sends Jadis and Uncle Andrew out of the house. When a guest brings grapes for Digory’s mother, Aunt Letty says, “Only fruit from the land of youth could help Mabel”, and Digory hears this. Digory and Polly together try and touch Jadis so that they can take her out of this world.

Digory and Polly manage to touch Jadis while touching their magic rings and bring Jadis, Uncle Andrew, the Cabby and the horse to first the wood between the worlds, then to a new, empty world (Narnia).
